Walki®Line
Innovation in Barrier Liners for Corrugated Board
Advanced fibre-based barrier solutions designed for recyclable, high-performance corrugated packaging.
Protect products. Strengthen corrugated board. Enable circular solutions.
Corrugated board is widely used across supply chains, but moisture, grease and mechanical friction can quickly weaken its performance. When exposed to humidity, oils or demanding transport conditions, standard liners may lose compression strength, leading to damaged products and unstable pallets.
Walki®Line barrier liners are engineered to enhance the durability and functionality of corrugated packaging while supporting circular packaging systems.
These fibre-based barrier materials can replace conventional liners such as kraftliners or testliners while adding functional protection against:
- Moisture and humidity
- Grease and fats
- Technical oils and chemicals
- Surface scratches and abrasion
Walki barrier liners can be used as inner liners, outer liners, or both in standard corrugating processes, enabling converters to integrate advanced protection directly into the box structure.
The result is stronger, cleaner and more reliable packaging, with solutions designed to be recyclable in standard paper waste streams.

Barrier solutions designed for performance, compliance and industry needs.
Customised Barrier Solutions

Walki offers extensive flexibility in barrier liner design to meet specific packaging requirements.
Converters can customise:
- Barrier properties (moisture, grease, oil)
- Coating technology (PE, PET, dispersion coating)
- Surface properties (smooth, anti-abrasive, matte)
- Printability and branding options
- Substrate selection
- Roll width and size (up to 3 metres)
This flexibility allows converters and packaging designers to create optimised corrugated structures tailored to each product and supply chain.
Designed for PPWR Compliance

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) will introduce stricter recyclability and circularity requirements for packaging materials.
Walki barrier liners are designed to help converters prepare for these regulations. Key benefits:
- Fibre-based structures
- Designed for recycling in paper streams
- Reduced plastic content options
- Compatible with circular packaging systems
- Supports fibre-based packaging alternatives
Dispersion coated solutions such as Walki®EVO Line and Walki®Line Jazz are particularly aligned with the future direction of EU packaging regulation.

Walki®Line Aqua / Hydraplex is a fibre-based barrier liner with excellent water and moisture resistance, designed for demanding food and FMCG packaging applications.
Using PE coating or glue lamination between fibre layers, the material protects corrugated packaging from moisture while maintaining excellent printability and glueability.
Key benefits:
- Very good water and moisture barrier
- Suitable for food contact (dry, wet and greasy foods)
- Excellent printability and glueability
- Over 90% fibre content
- Available in white or brown
- Repulpable and recyclable in paper streams
Typical applications:
- Fruit and vegetable boxes
- Berries and fresh produce packaging
- Flower and plant boxes

Moisture Barrier for Detergent Pod Packaging
Walki®Line Aqua / Hydraplex provides reliable moisture protection for corrugated boxes used to pack detergent pods. The barrier liner helps maintain the strength and dimensional stability of the box even in humid storage and transport conditions. By integrating moisture resistance directly into the corrugated structure, converters can reduce the need for additional inner packaging such as plastic bags. The fibre-based solution also offers good printability, glueability and recyclability in standard paper waste streams.

Walki®Line Aqua / Hydraplex enables converters to develop fibre-based packaging solutions that replace plastic while maintaining strong barrier performance.
